Police: Man injured during armed robbery in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects while he was sitting at bus stop, according to Lexington Police.

It happened at 11:41 p.m. Wednesday evening on North Broadway and West Sixth Street.

Authorities say the man told police he was sitting on a bench at a bus stop when three suspects approached him and attempted to rob him.

Police say one of the suspects was wearing a white t-shirt, faded blue jeans, and was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.

They say the man told that suspect he had nothing on him.

That’s when police say the suspect hit the man in the back of the head with the gun.

Police say all three suspects ran from the scene shortly after.

They say K-9 units were called to locate the suspects but were unsuccessful.

Police say the man was treated and released at the scene after suffering minor injuries to his head.

The investigation is still ongoing.
