POLICE: Man arrested during traffic stop, drags officer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  Lexington Police arrested a man, after they say he drove off from a traffic stop, and dragged an officer along with him.

Police say the man arrested is 34-year-old Adrian Bishop.

According to Lexington Police, last year on December 22nd, they stopped Bishop on Sir Barton Way near Grey Lag Way because of a broken tail light.

Police say when they asked Bishop for his driver’s license, they found out he had active warrants out.

They say when they approached the vehicle to make an arrest, Bishop started his engine and drove off, dragging another officer on the passenger side.

Police say that officer is okay, and didn’t suffer any injuries.

Bishop now faces 15 charges and will appear in court today.
