POLICE: Man arrested for robbery, threatens employees with hammer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – ABC 36 reported Wednesday night about a man accused of robbing O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on East New Circle Road.

Now, that man has been identified, after Lexington Police say he threatened to hit employees with a hammer.

According to Lexington Police, the man arrested is 35-year-old John Dickerson.

Police say they were called to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts early Wednesday morning about a man threatening employees.

They say Dickerson was inside the store when they arrived, and they found stolen merchandise behind the store.

Police say several witnesses told officers on scene that Dickerson threatened to hit them with a hammer if anyone came near him.

Dickerson is charged with robbery, and will appear in court today.
