UPDATE: Ky armored truck driver accused of stealing cash arrested

UPDATE: (1/30/2019) – The FBI and Louisville Police announced the arrest of Mark Espinosa on Wednesday.

Espinosa was arrested on a federal warrant near Hartford, Connecticut for his role in the Garda armored car theft.

Louisville Metro Police thanked the Wethersfield Police Department for their assistance.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Police in Kentucky say an armored truck driver fled with a “large amount” of cash taken from the truck while he was working.

Louisville police and the FBI are searching for 29-year-old Mark Nicholas Espinosa, who disappeared in Louisville on Dec. 5.

Investigators would not say how much money was taken from the truck, which is owned by Garda World, a security company.

Federal officials have issued a warrant for Espinosa’s arrest, and the FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Espinosa’s arrest. The armored truck company is offering a $50,000 reward.

Louisville police said Wednesday they believe Espinosa planned the heist.

An FBI bulletin says Espinosa is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs around 230 pounds. He has a large scar on his right arm.
