Police: Juvenile arrested after escaping deputies vehicle

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say on Wednesday morning a 15-year-old boy was being transported to the detention center by the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff.

According to officials the handcuffed juvenile was able to jump out of the vehicle onto Newtown Pike.

He then was able to force a man in a nearby vehicle to take him to Coroner Liquor off of Newtown Pike, according to authorities.

Police say once the juvenile was dropped off at the store, he ran into a house nearby off of Hickory Street.

After searching the area police were able to find the juvenile and arrest him inside that home, according to investigators.

Officials say the juvenile is facing multiple charges including robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
