Police investigate two homes hit by gunfire

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( WTVQ) – Police say they responded to two calls of shots fired in Lexington and discovered two homes were hit by bullets.

The first happened in the 2200 block of Winterberry Drive around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say that when they arrived, they found a bullet hole through the front window of the home. They say the bullet traveled through two rooms, missing a woman. She told police pieces of drywall flew in her face but she was not injured.

Police say witnesses told them they heard two men arguing in the street when the shots rang out.

Several people also told police they either saw or heard a car speed away and saw men run down an alley toward some apartments behind the neighborhood.

Police say they don’t believe that the home was the intended target.

They are searching for three suspects and a dark green Jeep.

Then, just after midnight, police responded to another shots-fired call at a home in the 1200 block of Atokad Park.

Police say shots were fired into a window and a door of the home. No one was there at the time.

Police tell ABC 36 that they don’t believe these two incidents are related.
