Police investigate early morning shooting on 12th Street
(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – Lexington Police were called to the 200 block of 12th street around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say that when they arrived on scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities say the man was walking around, but didn’t have much to say to officers. Police told ABC 36 that officers tried to find out what happened, but that the victim was not being cooperative.
The victim was taken to University of Kentucky hospital for treatment. According to police, the victim’s wound was non-life threatening.
Investigators say they do know the man was shot outside, but beyond that they don’t have many leads into the circumstances that led to the victim being shot.
Police also said that witnesses at the scene were not offering investigators information.
