Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Lexington gas station

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police are searching for a suspect, after they say a man attempted to rob the Thornton’s on Winchester Road with a handgun.

According to police, it happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They say a man walked into the Thornton’s and pulled a gun on the clerk.

Police say the man was startled by customers in the parking lot, which caused him to run without taking anything.

Police say he drove off in a silver Nissan Altima, which they are still trying to find.
