Police identify suspect in Fayette Mall incident

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of the subjects involved in an incident at Fayette Mall earlier this month has been identified, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say on September 7th several suspects entered Vengeance store with firearms, they approached two customers and demanded cash.

Customers gave them money then the suspects fled, according to officials.

Police say 21-year-old Laybron Montaz Franklin was identified as one of the suspects who brandished a firearm and pointed it at the customers and store clerk.

Police say they are still trying to identify the other individuals involved in this case.

According to detectives, the store customers knew the suspects and were specifically targeted due to prior confrontations between the individuals involved.

A warrant has been issued for Franklin for Wanton Endangerment 1st, according to officials.
