Police: Gas station clerk robbed at knife point after good deed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police say a gas station clerk was robbed by a man with a knife Sunday morning after helping that very same man.

It happened at the Shell gas station near Broadway and New Circle Road around 7:15 a.m. Police say a male, around 5’7″, around 30 and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt was in the gas station wanting to buy a cup of coffee. They say he didn’t have enough money so the clerk helped the man pay for the drink.

Officers say shortly after, the man returned to the store with a knife and robbed it. No arrests have been made and the accident is still under investigation.
