Police: Escaped inmate arrested in Rockcastle Co.

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they have arrested an inmate who escaped custody from a Rockcastle County jail last week.

Police say 30-year-old Joseph Morris, of Livingston, escaped while on work release around 1:17 p.m. on June 28.

They say Morris ran off while mowing grass on Daughtery Ridge Road.

Officials say on Thursday they received a tip that Morris was staying in an abandoned camper off of Trace Branch Road in Rockcastle County.

Police located the abandoned camper and found Morris inside, according to investigators.

Detectives say Morris was arrested and taken to Rockcastle County Detention Center.
