Police chase leads to four arrests
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A police chase ended with four people being arrested on drug charges in Laurel County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. A sheriff’s detective says he saw a man wanted on felony warrant in Laurel County, leave a known drug location in a vehicle.
The detective says when he tried to pull the vehicle over, it took off, but was later located. The detective says two of the people in the car took off running, but they were arrested after a foot chase. they were identified as the driver, 38-year old Roy Higgins of London. Investigators say Higgins was delivering methamphetamine to someone when the chase began.
The other person arrested was 28-year old Jonathan Segraves of London, who had a felony bench warrant out against him in Laurel County, according to the detective. Investigators say while Segraves was running from authorities, he swallowed a half-ounce of crystal meth that he was reportedly conspiring with the other people in the vehicle to deliver to someone.
Investigators say they also arrested 28-year old Ashley Medley of London because she knew she was in a vehicle with someone who had outstanding felony warrants out against them. The fourth person arrested was 28-year old Brittany Thompson-Sherrill of Corbin. Investigators say she took off running from the car, which led to a brief foot chase.
Roy Higgins, Ashley Medley and Brittany Thompson-Sherrill were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Jonathan Segraves was initially taken by ambulance to the hospital in London for treatment since he reportedly swallowed crystal meth. Investigators were taking him straight from the hospital to jail once he was released.
