Police chase leads to arrest in appliance theft cases
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A hit-and-run collision and police chase led to one arrest with another suspect still on the loose in a series of appliance thefts, according to Lexington Police.
Investigators say Saturday night an off-duty Lexington Police officer spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a series of burglaries in the Polo Club area, parked at a vacant home.
Police say when the officer approached, the two men in the vehicle took off, which led to a police chase.
Investigators say the suspect’s vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Park Pike and I-75.
Police say one suspect ran off and got away, but the other suspect, 35-year old Brandon Roberts, was arrested at the crash scene.
Investigators say the three people in the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run were not seriously hurt.
Police say Roberts and the unidentified suspect, had been going into vacant homes and stealing appliances.
Roberts was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center facing several charges.
