Body found at known homeless camp in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a body was found at a known homeless camp Friday.
Lexington Police say officers were sent to Newtown Pike and Third Street around 5:00 p.m. after a man was found dead.
Police say they aren’t sure if the man was homeless, despite where his body was found. Family members told investigators the man has a history of illness that might have played a part in his death.
This is the second body found in Lexington on Friday. A homeless man was found dead under the I-75 overpass on Winchester Road after he was spotted sleeping there. The coroner’s report says the man froze to death in single-digit wind chills.
