Pletcher’s Preakness prep planner

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The second leg of the Triple Crown is approaching rapidly race fans.

Saturday, May 20th we’ll find out if the dream stays alive for the connections of Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming.

It was a sloppy track in Baltimore as the projected morning line favorite took to the mud at Pimlico for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Save some morning work and bath plus a quick walk around the barn in the afternoon, what exactly does a trainer do all day at the track?

Horse racing gets a ton of publicity this time of year nationally; even more so here locally.

All eyes are on the sport for at least a handful of minutes to watch the Kentucky derby, Preakness and Belmont.

After winning his second Run for the Roses, Pletcher was reminded of exactly that.

Win on the first Saturday in May and you’re a popular person.

So is it nice to have a little down time at the track in Baltimore with fewer cameras and reporters before next week really ramps things back up?

Hear from Pletcher, and see Always Dreaming, in the video.
