Plants uprooted at Maxwell Elementary garden

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Maxwell Elementary Parent Teacher Association in Lexington says someone vandalized the Maxwell Butterfly Garden Tuesday night.

The association says someone pulled up 70 of their perennials and placed them in the center of the garden. They also say that none of the stakes were misplaced and the mulch was intact.

The Maxwell Butterfly Garden is used as a classroom and is a place for learning about dispersal, native plants, migration and our natural world, according to the school association.

The Maxwell Elementary Parent Teacher Association says this morning parents pulled together to replant the all the uprooted plants.
