Planning For Armstrong Mill Area’s Future

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government wants your help improving the community.

They want to create a developmental plan for the Armstrong Mill area bordered by New Circle, Tates Creek, Man O’ War, and Alumni Drive.

The goal is to bring investment and development to the area.  The first step is figuring out what it needs.

Councilmember George Myers wants people to take ownership of their community’s future.  For example one person told ABC36 he wanted more restaurants.  Myers said he wants to bring in more jobs, but first if you live in the area your input is what he needs.

"It’s vital.  It’s critical to this process that the citizens have an opportunity along with the business owners to put input into this process, and allow them to create a plan that addresses the needs," said George Myers, 8th District Urban County Councilmember.

Public meetings will take place at the Gainesway Community Center on 3460 Milano Road.  Here are the dates:

Tuesday, October 14th, 5:30-7:30
Tuesday, October 28th, 5:30-7:30
Tuesday, November 11th, 5:30-7:30
