Pizza delivery driver robbed of pizza

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say grabbing a bite to eat landed one teen behind bars.

A Papa John’s driver was called to Simba Way for a delivery Sunday night.

But police say when he arrived at the home at around 10:45 p.m. a man walked up to the car, punched the driver in the face then grabbed the pizza and ran off.

Shortly after the robbery, an officer spotted someone matching the description of the suspect in the Lowe’s parking lot nearby.

He was taken into custody.

Police say the suspect is 17-years-old so his name is not being released.

The delivery driver was not injured, according to police.
