Pike County train derailment cleanup continues

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Cleanup continues following that fiery train derailment last week.

The state says all the tanker cars have been emptied of the remaining ethanol and removed from the accident site.

A rockslide derailed the CSX train on Thursday.

Two people were injured but are said to be okay.

Ethanol did leak into the Big Sandy River.

The state says it’s continuing to take water samples and monitor the river.
