Pep Rally Held Ahead Of Saturday’s Game At UK

Solid Blue fans received a jumpstart for Saturday’s big game at a pep rally on campus Wednesday evening.

The rally was one more part of Homecoming Week at the University of Kentucky. This year, for the first time, a street fair accompanied the band, cheerleaders and dance team in getting students ready.

Local vendors and student organizations were able to showcase themselves as the student body flooded Avenue of Champions in front of Memorial Coliseum.

Organizers said the goal is to get fans excited about the Mississippi State game.

One senior ABC 36 caught up with talked about what Homecoming Week means to her.

“Homecoming Week to us is coming together and being that "See Blue" nation and coming together not only for athletics but for the student body as well,” said senior, Aleigh Oney.
