UPDATE: Coroner identifies pedestrian killed in McCreary County crash

A man who was hit and killed in McCreary County Sunday night has been identified.

He is 43-year-old Adam Slaven, of Pine Knot, according to the McCreary County Coroner’s Office.

Kentucky State Police say Slaven was walking in the middle of U.S. Highway 27 when he was struck by one vehicle then thrown into another lane where he was hit by three more vehicles.

State Police say they are still investigating the accident.

PINE KNOT, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police in McCreary County say a man was killed late Sunday night after being hit by multiple vehicles.

They say a man was walking in the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 27 around 10:30 Sunday night when he was hit by a vehicle.

They say he was thrown into the northbound lane where he was hit by another vehicle.

Police say two more vehicles ran over the man before traffic stopped.

He was pronounced dead on scene.

Police say no one else was injured and they don’t expect any drivers to face charges.

According to the coroner, the victim has been identified but his identity will not be released until his family is notified.
