UPDATE: Pedestrian hit and killed by truck identified

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now know the name of a man who died after being hit by a pickup truck on US 25E early Thursday morning in Bell County.

The Bell County coroner identified the pedestrian killed as 18-year-old Ethan Fugate, of Pineville.

Investigators say a driver in a 2010 Ford F-150 was driving down US 25E when he saw Fugate standing in the middle of the road. They say the driver was unable to avoid hitting Fugate.

State police say no foul play is suspected.

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was hit and killed Thursday morning in Bell County.

The Bell County Coroner’s Office says the 18-year-old was walking down US 25E around 4 a.m. when he was struck by a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner says the driver did stop.

He says the area of road where the pedestrian was hit is not well-lit.

Police are still trying to locate the victim’s next-of-kin so his name has not been released.
