UPDATE: Name released of pedestrian hit and killed in Lexington

UPDATE: LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Fayette County Coroner released the name of a man who was hit and killed while crossing Richmond Road in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 31, 2018.

The coroner identified the victim as 32-year-old Justin Williamson.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The outbound lanes of Richmond Road, near Lakeshore Drive were closed for several hours Saturday morning in order for police to investigate after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car.

It happened just before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Richmond Road and Lakeshore Drive.

According to police, the pedestrian walked out in front of a woman’s car as she was driving outbound on Richmond Road through a green light.

Police say they don’t think the driver will face charges.

Officials haven’t released the name of the person killed in the collision.
