Pedestrian dies days after accident in Laurel Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that killed a pedestrian days after it happened.

According to the Sheriff, the accident happened on August 3 at about 9:15 p.m.  Deputies say a Chevrolet Blazer stopped on American Greeting Card Road was making a left turn onto US 25 when a pedestrian ran into its path.  The pedestrian, 55-year-old Clerndon Smith was critically injured and flown by helicopter from the Hunter Hills Elementary School parking lot to UK hospital with critical injuries.

On Thursday, the Sheriff reported that Smith had passed away at Baptist Health Care Hospital at about 1:00 a.m.

No word on any charges in the accident.
