Partly cloudy and fall-like temperatures on tap for Wednesday
Closer to average temperatures for the middle of the work week
Wednesday and Thursday will see afternoon high temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. On Wednesday, clouds will build through the late morning and will last through the afternoon. Thursday will see some more sunshine. Both days will have a light northeastern breeze.
End of the week warm-up ahead
Friday morning, high pressure builds to our East, bringing winds out of the south. This moves warmer, moist air into the Bluegrass. Cloud cover builds Friday as temperatures return to the mid-70s. Saturday will see an even bigger temperature jump as we warm to near 80. Moisture continues to build with more cloud cover and the chance for some isolated afternoon showers. This may make for a dreary UK homecoming. However, it is possible that we get lucky and can stay mostly dry.
A cold front brings several changes
Saturday night into Sunday morning, a cold front will push through. This will bring with it a line of showers and t-storms overnight, with showers lasting during the day Sunday. We can expect scattered to widespread rain, with a few storms possible. As of right now, it is still a bit too early to know exact details, but severe storms are looking unlikely. We just look to end the weekend a bit soggy. This cold front will also drop temperatures around 10 degrees, leaving us in the upper 60s for the start of next week.
