City of Lexington providing three viewing locations for the Solar Eclipse
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Parks & Recreation has three locations to enjoy the view of next Monday’s Solar Eclipse: McConnell Springs, Raven Run and Thoroughbred Park.
The city says complimentary glasses will be provided at all sites to make it safe to watch.
School has been dismissed for the day, so the department will bring along its Park & Play van at Thoroughbred Park. SplashJam, at nearby Northeastern Park will also be open.
The partial eclipse will begin around 1:00 p.m. and end around 4:00 p.m., with a maximum partial eclipse viewing time set for 2:28 p.m.
The city asks everyone to bring a chair or blanket.
