Owensboro woman arrested for identity theft
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WTVQ)- KSP was notified by Tennessee authorities that an Owensboro woman was committing identity theft.
Tennessee authorities contacted KSP Monday about an investigation involving a woman in Owensboro who was using a Tennessee woman’s identity on a work application.
29 year-old Rosita Cano of Owensboro was arrested and charges with theft of identity of another without their consent, 2 counts of forgery, 3 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and received goods or services by fraud under $10,000 within 6 months.
KSP says Cano was using a Chattanooga woman’s information on a work application in order to pass as a legal U.S. citizen.
Troopers discovered several counterfeit Social Security Cards with different identities, state ID cards with Cano’s picture, but different names.
Troopers also discovered tax and insurance documents from which Cano received benefits under her aliases.
