Overnight shootout at Camelot East damages businesses

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say no injuries were reported after an early morning shoot-out at Camelot East on Richmond Road.  Nearby businesses, however, didn’t escape being damaged.

Officers say they were called to the parking lot of the gentleman’s club around 2:00 a.m. Police say multiple shots were fired, some of which shattered the window of the Sheabel Veterinary Hospital nearby.  Employees at the hospital say the shots damaged a remote part of the building where storage is kept.  No animals were injured.  Citing multiple shooting incidents at the club in the past, a manager at the hospital says they’re now looking to expand their practice at another location.

“We bought land on Liberty Road,” says Sheabel Veterinary Hospital manager, Kathryn Farmer.  “We are building a new facility there.  We’re thrilled about it.  It would be more convenient for people to come in and out of the building and, hopefully, safer.”

Police say the shooting is still under investigation, and that no arrests have been made.
