Outdoor warning sirens to be tested next week in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Emergency Management will be testing its network of outdoor warning sirens next week between 10am and 2pm.
If you live near a park or golf course, or are in the downtown area, expect to hear siren wails, tones, chimes and voice announcements. The testing is necessary due to new equipment and systems installation.
Testing may be conducted Monday, April 24, Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26.
Testing will be postponed if the possibility of severe weather exists.
Please do not call 9-1-1 for information about the siren test.
