Our active pattern is set to ramp up
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has a look at your Sunday evening forecast!
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Sunday evening everyone, we got a break from the gloom and doom today and actually seen some sunshine. But additional light rain chances are ahead the next couple of days before a MUCH bigger system lurks more the upcoming weekend. Temperatures to start our Monday will be down into the upper 30s to low 40s.
Rain showers will increase as the morning goes on and will be scattered through the afternoon with highs staying in the upper 40s to near 50. It is not a washout by any means but you’ll defiantly want to have the rain gear handy.
A shower or two will be possible into Tuesday but most should stay dry during this time with temperatures into the chilly 30s.
Showers will once again increase as the day goes on with highs in the upper 40s to near 50 once again. Just like Monday, it won’t be a wash out but you’ll want to keep the rain gear handy.
Temperatures drop quickly Tuesday evening and that’ll set the stage for snow flurries to fly into Wednesday morning.
Not much rain is going to fall over the next couple days with most areas .25″ or below.
Temperatures quickly recover back into the 50s for Thursday through the upcoming weekend.
That sets the stage for a MAJOR looking system Saturday – Monday. This could impact every state east of the Mississippi in some form or fashion. What exactly happens here in Kentucky remains to be seen, but we have the “potential” to go from heavy rain and high winds to winter weather.
Make sure you are staying with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates.
