Online candidate forums this week for District 7 Senate, House District 57

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Voters in two different races can get some insight on the candidates during online forums this week.

From 7-8  p.m. Tuesday, the three candidates in the District 7 state Senate race will discuss the issues in a forum hosted by Together Frankfort and moderated by Frankfort State Journal publisher Steve Stewart.

The three candidates in the race for the seat, which covers five counties, are:

• Democratic candidate Joe Graviss
• Independent candidate Ken Carroll
• Republican candidate Adrienne Southworth

The forum is co-sponsored by: AAUW-Bluegrass; F.O.R.R.-Frankfort; and the Frankfort/Franklin County Chapter of the N.A.A.C.P.

Senate District 7 includes Anderson, Franklin, Gallatin, Owen, and Woodford counties. The 7th District stretches from Gallatin (county seat, Warsaw), bordered by the Ohio River north, traveling south through Owen (county seat, Owenton), then spreading through the three-county area of Franklin, Woodford, and Anderson, which includes their county seats of Frankfort, Versailles, and Lawrenceburg, respectively.

Then Thursday from 7-8 p.m., candidates for the District 57 House seat will appear in another online forum at:

Also organized by Together Frankfort, the event features candidates, incumbent Democrat Derrick Graham and Republican Gary Stratton.

The district covers most of Franklin County.

It will be moderated by Laura Cullen Glasscock, KY Gazette publisher/editor and KSU assistant professor of Journalism.

The forum will include opening statements from each candidate, a question and answer session, and closing statements from the candidates.

During the webinar, participants can use the Q&A feature of Webinar to pose questions for the moderator to consider. Participants may also propose questions before the Webinar in the registration process.
