One person pronounced dead after drowning in flood

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. ( ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – One man has died from an accidental drowning on Saturday, according to the Clay County Coroner.

The Coroner says his office was called around 5:30 p.m. by the Clay County 911 dispatch to Highway 80 in the Horse Creek Community.

According to the coroner, 73-year-old Donald Keith Nicholson was driving on a flooded road when his vehicle stalled. Nicholson got out of his vehicle, but was swept away by the current.

Nicholson was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.
