One person killed in collision with garbage truck

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person was killed and another injured when a car collided with a garbage truck in Mercer County on Tuesday, according to a post by the Harrodsburg Police Department on its Facebook page.

The post says it happened around noon at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Tapp Road.

The passenger in the car was killed, the driver taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, according to the social media post.  The name of the person who was killed wasn’t immediately released.

The garbage truck driver was not hurt, according to the post.

The accident is under investigation by the Harrodsburg Police Department’s accident reconstructionist, according to the post.
