One person injured in shooting, crews fighting fire at scene
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – UPDATE:
We now know the identity of the person who was shot on Saturday in Madison County.
Police found Nancey Erwin in a vehicle on the property after being called.
Police say she was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital.
UPDATE 06/29/24:
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a body was located inside of the house around 5 p.m.
An investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY:
One person has been taken to the hospital following a shooting in Madison County, and crews are currently working to extinguish a house fire at the same scene.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office says they were called for shots fired at 2:10 p.m.
Upon arrival they found one victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital by EMS, but their condition is unknown at this time.
The Madison County Fire Department, as well as other local volunteer agencies, are currently working to put out a fire at the house where the victim was found, according to the Sheriff’s office.
The Sheriff’s office says more information will be released at a later time.
