One more frigid night before temperatures warm up
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Saturday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Saturday evening everyone, steady snow pulled away from the state this morning and that has left us with bitter cold air and a few flurries. Highs today were only in the upper 20s to low 30s. By tonight it is down right FRIGID with temperatures hitting the mid to upper teens. Wind chills will be even colder into the single digits.
Temperatures rebound but will still be below average into Sunday afternoon with upper 30s to low 40s. Wind chills will remain even colder.
Temperatures by Monday drop back into the 20s.
But we see a big jump in temperatures by Monday afternoon with upper 40s to low 50s under full sunshine.
Tuesday afternoon will be more of the same with upper 40s to low 50s showing up under partly sunny skies.
Wednesday looks like the best day of the next week with upper 50s to low 60s under a mix of sun and clouds. Go ahead and plan to get outside and enjoy it.
Changes blow back in by Thursday with rain and thunderstorms moving into the area. Some heavy rain and strong winds look possible.
Rainfall totals could reach a half inch to local 1″ amounts.
Colder air sweeps in behind that for Friday with a few leftover rain and/or snow showers possible.
But, temperatures warm back up after that with the closing days of February into early March looking well above average.
As always. stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates! #kywx
