UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal shooting at Richmond gas station

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The victim of a fatal shooting in Madison County has been identified.

According to the Madison County Coroner, Matthew S. Francis, 26, of Somerset was shot to death outside a Marathon gas station in Richmond.


Update 11/5/18 6:05 a.m.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police say they have arrested 22-year-old Brandon Short for murder, in connection to this shooting.

Police say he admitted to being in a fight with the victim and then firing multiple gunshots into his face and torso, which caused his death.

Short is now facing a murder charge.


RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Madison County Coroner confirms one person was killed in a shooting at a Marathon gas station in Richmond late Sunday night.

According to the coroner, the victim was found with a gunshot wound at the Marathon on Berea Road in Richmond Sunday night.
