One dead in Woodford County crash
WOODFORD CO. Ky. (WTVQ) – One person is dead after an early-morning crash Monday in Woodford County westbound on I-64 near the Scott County line.
According to the Kentucky State Police, a blue 2007 Dodge Ram hauling a trailer operated by 54-year-old James Stephenson, of Florence, Ky., was westbound at about 67 mile marker when the truck veered off the roadway and overturned into South Elkhorn Creek directly after.
The accident happened at about 2 a.m.
The Versailles Police Department arrived and requested a KSP Collision Reconstruction unit to work the accident, according to the KSP.
The Woodford County Coroner pronounced Stephenson dead at the scene.
An autopsy will be performed.
KSP Post 12 was assisted on scene by Versailles Police, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the Woodford County Coroner, and Woodford County EMS.
The investigation is ongoing by Post 12 Trooper Jacob Guffey.
