UPDATE: Victims, suspect identified in Frankfort shooting
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Frankfort police have released the identity of the man killed and the other man injured after a shooting Monday night in Frankfort.
Police say the man killed was 19-year-old Xavier Cochrum. They say he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The second man found shot at the scene was identified as 19-year-old Ezavion Peyton. Police say he was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center where he is being treated. The extent of his injuries has not been released.
Frankfort police say 18-year-old Elijah Amburgey was arrested and charged with the murder of Xavier Cochrum. They say Amburgey is also charged with assault for the shooting of Ezavion Peyton and wanton endangerment for firing his pistol in the direction of Patrick Greenlee Jr.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Frankfort police say one man is dead and another in the hospital after a shooting Monday night.
Police say they were called to Menominee Trail just before 11:30 p.m. regarding a burglary. That’s when they say they found one man with a gunshot wound.
Officers say that man was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where police say he later died.
While in the area, officers say they found a second man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, his condition and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
Names of the victims and details surrounding the shooting, including possible suspects, has also not been released.
