One dead in Jackson County collision
McKEE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say one person is dead after a wreck on US HWY-421 North late Sunday evening.
Troopers say around 11:00 p.m., a Ford Ranger was headed north on the highway when the driver lost control of the truck, crossed over the center line, and collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup.
The driver of the pickup, 55-year-old Jack D. Jones, was fatally injured in the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Troopers say Jones was not wearing a seat belt.
Both the driver and passenger of the Ranger were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
