UPDATE: Victim in fatal Paris Pike/Iron Works Pike wreck identified

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -The Fayette County Coroner has identified the man who died in a wreck in Lexington on Monday on Paris Pike and Iron Works Pike.

According to the coroner, 47-year-old David Adams died of multiple blunt force injuries.

Adams was the passenger in a Nissan that collided with a truck early Monday morning.

The crash shut down northbound Paris Pike for a period of time.

A second man, the driver of the Nissan, was also sent to the hospital – no word on his condition.

Both men reportedly worked at a nearby farm.

One dead after crash on Iron Works Pike

The Fayette County Coroner says a man is dead after a wreck on Iron Works Pike

Police say the crash happened when a truck, headed north on Paris Pike, collided with a Nissan that was crossing Iron Works Pike.

The passenger in the Nissan, a 40-year-old man, died in the collision.  The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The victim in the crash remains unidentified pending notification of next-of-kin.

No word on the condition of the truck driver.

Northbound Paris Pike is closed as Crash Reconstruction Units investigate the scene.
