On and off drizzle with mostly cloudy skies for Tuesday

Today’s rain chances and fall-like temps

Tuesday won’t see much rain, but it will be a gloomy day. Lots of clouds cover and on/off rain showers will dominate the area. Most rain chances will stay isolated (20%). There may be a few peeks of sunshine throughout the day, but mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures on the mild side, in the mid-to-upper 50s. We’re still feeling a bit below average for this time of the year.

Wetter for Wednesday

A trough of low pressure will swing through on Wednesday, which will push some low pressure to our south and will bring rain chances through mid-week. Wednesday will likely be our wettest day, with all-day rain chances and some areas seeing bouts of heavy rainfall. Thursday will see lingering rain on the back end of the low-pressure system as it slides up the Appalachian mountains. Over the next few days, many will pick up 1-2″ of rainfall.

Drier by Halloween

Things will dry out Thursday night into Friday morning. We may see some cloud cover through the day, but the evening will see mostly clear skies. This will allow temperatures to cool down past sunset. The sun will set near 6:40 pm. After this, temperatures will begin to cool into the 40s. Coats under Halloween costumes will be needed, but the umbrellas can be left at home.
