Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Home coping with burglary

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Herald reports that 33 year-old William Ray McKee is suspected in the burglary of Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement farm, as well as other crimes in Scott and Franklin counties.

The non-profit farm is coping with the burglary. It says someone broke in on, made a mess and stole money and checks from the cash register. Old Friends says a television was also stolen.

“We’re a non-profit, every dime matters to us,” Cindy Grisolia said. “For us, a couple hundred dollars means a lot. [It] pays the bills, feeds a horse for a day or two.”

She continued, saying; “Stealing is bad enough. Stealing from a charity is even lower, it’s really pretty despicable and honestly, is a few hundred dollars really getting you that much?”

Lane’s End Farms, wanting to help after reading about the burglary on Old Farm’s Facebook, bought the retirement farm a new television.
