UPDATE: Name of driver who hit pedestrian on Bellefonte Dr. released

UPDATE: LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Fayette County coroner has identified the driver of the car that hit a pedestrian on Bellefonte Drive.

The coroner identifies the man as 58-year-old Robert Gallagher.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officials tell us two people are dead after an accident involving a pedestrian in Lexington.

“It’s just so unfortunate,” said neighbor David Blondell.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m. off of Bellefonte Dr. Wednesday.

Police say the driver of the vehicle may have had a medical problem behind the wheel when they struck the pedestrian.

According to police the pedestrian was pinned against the tree.
