Officials: All-Star Game, NASCAR boost traffic at airport
CINCINNATI (AP) – Officials are crediting All-Stars and fast cars with helping produce a strong July for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1N3ewjm ) reports that traffic at the Hebron, Kentucky, airport grew by a record amount.
Officials say the airport’s total passengers increased by more than 10 percent that month compared to July 2014. The amount of passengers who started or ended their trips at the airport increased by a record 24.2 percent. Parking transactions also saw a nearly 20 percent uptick.
The airport’s CEO, Candace McGraw, says Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game in Cincinnati and a NASCAR race at the Kentucky Speedway helped boost traffic at the airport.
