It’s official: in last-ditch effort to host 2018 WEG, KY Horse Park bows out
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Friday, The Kentucky Horse Park released a statement saying it will not host the 2018 World Equestrian Games.
The games were supposed to be held in Bromont, Quebec but financial complications derailed that location.
The Kentucky Horse Park, along with the Kentucky Cabinet for Tourism, Arts, and Heritage say they considered taking over hosting the event, but after weighing the pros and cons, decided there wasn’t enough time to pull it off.
Instead, the horse park will put in a pitch for the 2022 games.
