Officer Injured During Chase

 A Lexington police officer was injured during a foot chase Friday morning.
 It happened near the Gardenbrooke Apartments at 1340 Alexandria Drive.
 Police said the officer suspected a driver of driving drunk and stopped the car behind the complex at around 12 a.m. 
 Police said that’s when the driver jumped out of the car and ran off.
 The officer ran after him and hopped a fence during the chase only to fall about four to five feet into a rocky ravine below.
 Emergency workers pulled the officer out and took him to the hospital.
 Police said the officer suffered a broken leg.
 They said the suspect got away.
