Off-duty officer hears drive-by shooting, chases suspects

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- An off-duty police officer was in the right place, during a drive-by shooting Thursday night in Lexington.
Investigators say he lives next door to where it happened.

Police say a passenger, in a car, fired shots at a home near Paris Pike and Judy Lane. They say the off-duty officer chased the suspects until other police arrived.

Investigators say the driver and passenger eventually ran from the car, but were caught.

Police say the driver, Xavier Johnson (above, left,) was charged with fleeing and evading. The passenger, Travontez Q. Lillard was charged with wanton endangerment.

Police say there were no reports of injuries.
