Oakley sentenced to 15 years in prison in death of stepmother

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- A judge has sentenced a teenager accused of killing her stepmother was sentenced as an adult Wednesday.

Last month, Jenna Oakley pleaded guilty to manslaughter and stealing her stepmother Rhonda Oakley’s car.

Oakley was sentenced to 15 years in prison, 10 for manslaughter and 5 for stealing her stepmother’s car.

In court Wednesday, nine witnesses were called to the stand, most were employees from the Adair County Detention Center she has been in.

Jenna’s father, Phillip Oakley, gave a victim impact speech and told his daughter he stills loves her.

Jenna read a letter to the court and asked the judge to have mercy.
