Not guilty plea in fatal stabbing in Madison County

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Berea man has pleaded not guilty to a fatal stabbing that happened back in January.

The Madison County District Court says 40-year-old Ricky D. Arvin entered the plea Monday.

He is charged with the death of 43-year-old Jay Drake.

Arvin was originally charged with assault when he was arrested January 23 but that was upgraded to murder after Drake later died at an area hospital.

Arvin is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
