No Rumpke trash or recycling collection on Friday

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hazardous road conditions will prevent Rumpke from collecting trash and recycling from its customers in Central Kentucky Friday.

The Mt. Sterling based company canceled collection Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6. Rumpke will resume regular collection next week.

Rumpke customers who didn’t receive service Thursday and Friday of this week will be collected the week of March 9, on their normal collection day.  Rumpke will not limit the amount of trash it collects from its Thursday and Friday customers next week.

Customers should still contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537 to schedule large item collection (furniture, appliances, etc.) at least 24-hours in advance.

This schedule impacts customers in the following counties:

  • Bourbon

  • Boyle

  • Clark

  • Fayette

  • Fleming

  • Franklin

  • Garrard

  • Jessamine

  • Lincoln

  • Madison

  • Mercer

  • Montgomery

  • Nicholas

  • Powell

  • Scott

  • Woodford

“The safety of our employees and traveling motorists is a top concern,” said Gary Lederer, operations manager, Rumpke. “We want to make sure snow plows can effectively do their jobs and that our drivers can safely travel down roadways to service our customers.”
